If you are familiar with DUST and have imagined what two DUST’s together or what Double Dust would be like. Well, here it is but more.

DDUUSSTT is a two-stage single playback delay fuzz where the delayed note max length is half a sec within the first stage which goes into the second stage with a longer playback length. With the momentary, you can hold the second stage note and have playback repeatedly while first stage can be played over the loop when momentary is held. Along with that, there are two toggles that can add detuned pitch to the first stage and make momentary hold more abrasive which can also turn it into a noise device when momentary is held with no signal going into it.

Mask Audio Electronics described DUST best by categorizing it as an “unhinged delay” fuzz so I guess DDUUSSTT can be described as a “double unhinged delay”.

You may ask "Why does my DDUUSSTT look different from all the rest?". The answer is that each DDUUSSTT is its own variant of acid etching.

And of course, expression control as expression will be able to control the first stage of DDUUSSTT. For more range of expression control, simply turn the know clockwise. TRS cable required. Expression is controlling 10K pot so expression pedal used with DDUUSSTT may differ in control if expression pedal is higher in control value.

Footswitches

Left Footswitch - Bypass

Turns the effect on and off.

Right Footswitch - Momentary

When held down, depending on position of knob, will hold audio played in the second stage for as long as you hold the momentary switch down and can be played over the loop when held.

Playability

DDUUSSTT pairs well with most pedals but momentary footswitch may operate differently if compressor is placed before DDUUSSTT. If having synth or different instruments other than guitar or bass going into DDUUSSTT, the effect may operate differently depending on the strength of the input signal as well.
